For a tiny town, Mt. Crested Butte has some of the biggest and best mountain biking in the Rockies.
Mt. Crested Butte Mountain Biking
Home to Crested Butte Mountain and the Evolution Bike Park, you may expect the Mt. Crested Butte mountain biking scene to be all about gravity. Nope. That being said, Evolution Bike Park brings the heat in the downhill mountain bike category. Lots of trails. At least one new one every season. Beginner to extreme.
Beyond the Bike Park, Mt. Crested Butte also has access to many more trail areas in the valley. When it’s open, the Snodgrass Trail offers great views of wildflower meadows and mountain vistas. Gothic and the famed 401 and 403 Trails are just down the road. Or you can ride all the way around the back side of Crested Butte Mountain. If you do, give yourself lots of time and pack lots of water!
Mt. Crested Butte Apres Bike
The apres scene in Mt. Crested Butte is clustered at the base of Crested Butte Mountain. Food options range from deliciously basic to upscale with great wine. On Wednesday evenings in July, you can finish your ride with free live music and a picnic in the grass.
