Lodging

Gunnison Valley Lodging ranges from inexpensive motels and campgrounds up to fine luxury homes and condos. No matter where you stay, you’ll be close to some of the best mountain biking trails in the world.

South Gunnison Valley Lodging

The south valley has two major population centers: Gunnison and Almont. You’ll find most of the campgrounds and cabins in the South Valley. Our two dude ranches as well.

In the city of Gunnison, you’ll find small, locally-owned motels and inns. Also some of the bigger chains. Many have ground level rooms with rooms you can drive right up to, making it easy to store your bike in your room. Staying in Gunnison will put you close to the desert trail network at Hartman Rocks. It’s also a great homebase for riding Agate Creek and other trails off the Monarch Crest.

Almont gives you easy access to all of the trails in Taylor Canyon. Wake up in your cabin, ride Doctor Park, and enjoy the deck by the river all afternoon.

North Gunnison Valley Lodging

The north valley has the towns of Crested Butte and Mt. Crested Butte. You’ll find a mix of inns, hotels, lodges, and condos plus vacation homes for rent.

Crested Butte has smaller lodging properties, mostly bed & breakfasts and inns plus some vacation rentals. It’s the place to be close to downtown Crested Butte’s restaurants, shopping, and nightlife. Summer weekends in town book early, so make sure you plan ahead if you want to stay in town.
