If you are already experienced at adaptive mountain biking, they can set you up with a rental and point you toward accessible trails. Both Crested Butte and Gunnison boast accessible mountain biking trails. Just outside the town of Crested Butte you can ride the Lower Loop or the Lupine Trail. Hartman Rocks is home to a great loop on Sea of Sage and Broken Shovel. For more of a challenge for the most experienced riders, Beck’s is a flowy and fast trail that is just wide enough for handcycles.
Our Adaptive Sports Center pushes the limits on adaptive mountain biking program with their downhill program.
Built for going downhill fast, their quadcycles are the perfect vehicle for tackling the trails at Evolution Bike Park in Mt. Crested Butte with their rollers, bridges, and berms. Our Adaptive Sports Center is one of few adaptive programs in the country with a fleet of these quadcycles.
After a quick primer in how the quadcycle steering works, you’ll load the chairlifts and head up for a lesson. At the top, it’s off the chair and time to zoom down. These quadcycles are super fun for the flow. They’re also capable of taking on even some of the most challenging trails at Evolution Bike Park.
